Morris Classic Muscat is made with Muscat à Petits Grains Rouges (Brown Muscat) from estate vineyards in Rutherglen in north-eastern Victoria.
The dry grown, hand pruned vines produce fruit with high sugar levels and concentrated flavours – ideal for this rich dessert style wine.
The fruit is crushed and fermented. Once the desired level of sugar and alcohol is reached, the wine is pressed and fortified with a strong neutral spirit to prevent further fermentation.
Maturation takes place in oak casks. At blending, barrels from different vintages are carefully selected to create a consistent style across releases. The blend has an average age of eight years.
Dense amber, Morris Classic Muscat has rich, sweet spice and dried fruit flavours, finishing long with a hint of oak. Ready to drink on release.
